- Central Prayon wet di-hemihydrate process is evidenced from a Belgian case study (Belboom et al. 2015), but the target flow geography is unspecified; use GLO as a generic representation of this technology. [en] · Périmètre non précisé

- Description technologique
- Cradle-to-gate production of phosphoric acid by acidulation of phosphate rock with sulfuric acid (and recycled phosphoric acid), generating weak phosphoric acid and calcium sulfate (phosphogypsum) as co-product/by-product; followed by concentration to fertilizer-grade phosphoric acid at plant gate.; Wet-process attack of prepared phosphate rock with sulfuric acid and water producing phosphoric acid and calcium sulfate (phosphogypsum) and associated fluoride species (e.g., HF) as described for wet-process phosphoric acid production (Rutherford et al. 1994; Belboom et al. 2015). Central Prayon (di-hemihydrate) is the selected configuration.; Route represents a production mix 'at plant' consistent with a wet-process phosphoric acid facility using the di-hemihydrate (Central Prayon) configuration.; Phosphate rock mining/beneficiation and sulfuric acid manufacture are treated as upstream inputs to the plant-gate system (included as background inventories in the cited LCA).; Phosphogypsum is treated as a managed co-product/by-product; valorisation vs disposal is site-dependent but remains part of the wet-process route structure.
